The State Police checks on accommodation facilities continue without stopping, also in view of the imminent Jubilee, to guarantee the safety of citizens and operators in the sector in compliance with the regulations.
The Police Chief of Rome has issued, pursuant to art. 100 T.UL.PS, an order for the immediate cessation of an illegal hotel activity against the owner of a hospitality facility in via Borgo Pio.
It was the officers of the Administrative and Social Police Division of the police headquarters who affixed the seals following a series of administrative checks from which it emerged that the owner of the business – in possession of an authorization for two “bed and breakfasts” located in the same building – had, in fact, managed them as a single hotel business despite the absence of a certified notification of commencement of business (so-called SCIA).
During the investigations, the police officers found that the check-in and check-out operations for guests were carried out in a single reception, located on the ground floor, and all the documentation for both businesses was kept; furthermore, the rooms, although belonging to two different “bed and breakfast” establishments, actually had a sequential numbering; finally, the structure was externally advertised as a single hotel business, without any reference to the names of the two different accommodation facilities.
Following the investigation conducted by the Administrative Division, the seals were then placed as ordered by the police commissioner pursuant to art. 100 TULPS
